Difference and Similarities between Doodle Fiction, Manga, and Graphic Novel

Doodle Fiction, Manga, and Graphic Novel are some of the genres in the 21st century literature. These 3 genres are created sing the resources from modern day. They incorporate drawings and images in order to make it more enjoyable, appealing and to give a better illustration of the context. Despite them having a lot of similarities, they still have a lot of differences making them unique from each other.

Doodle Fiction is a genre where the author incorporates doodle writing and drawings. the drawings enhances the story making it more humorous and more entertaining. Some examples of doodle fiction includes Diary of Wimpy Kid, Danny’s Doodles, Timmy Failure, etc.

Mangas are comics that originated from Japan. This genre incorporates a japanese art style and a comic-like structure. It is read from right to left instead of comics which is left to right. Mangas also include an artistic twist to a normal story telling whilst still maintaining the plot of the story. Some examples are Attack on Titan, One Punch Man, Demon Slayer, etc.

Graphic Novels are similar to comic books because they use sequential art to tell stories. Graphic Novels can be fiction, non fiction, history, fantasy or anything in between. They have more complex stories than comics. Though graphic novels are not illustrated by western people, the style used is still a westernized style. Some examples of graphic novels are Watchmen, This one summer, Maus, etc.

Opinion

I have read all 3 genres and all of them are great but the best I have seen so far are mangas. Mangas are the most interesting out of the 3 for me because of its excellent art style and stories. The second best for me is doodle fiction. Reading this makes me laugh and drawings just makes the story more interesting. Graphic Novels are my least favourite because of its art style and structure. Even though it’s my least favourite, I still love its story because it is usually full of action.  Well, at least the ones I’ve read.
